Religious Facilities

I have experience designing and delivering churches from various denominations, and I have been doing this my entire career as an architect.  Before moving to Kentucky, I worked as an architect for a design-build firm that primarily focused on churches and banks.

In 2017, River Lake Church purchased a 12,000-square-foot industrial building (trucking garages with offices) to convert into their new church.  With a budget of just $700,000, it took a LOT of “sweat equity” from church members to turn this “sow’s ear” into a “silk purse.”  Since completing the first phase in 2018, their mission and congregation have grown so quickly that they are already starting work on a new 5,500-square-foot office, foyer, and youth area addition.
Bradfordsville Baptist Church – This new 5,800 square-foot church was designed to replace their existing church building, which had been damaged by repeated floods.  The new building was raised up on a concrete foundation, which was designed to withstand the flow of periodic flood waters. The new building also incorporated the stained glass windows of the original church inserted behind the windows of the new sanctuary.  Constructed in 2020 with the help of the Mississippi Nail Benders (volunteer/mission builders), the final design was changed only slightly (roof slope) to accommodate the volunteer workers.
