Metcalf County Government Center

I have experience designing and delivering a variety of government buildings. Although I prefer to work in design-build, these buildings each required hard-bids.  Given the right contractor, I am willing to design hard-bid jobs as well.

Civic Facilities

Completed in 2018, this new 13,100 square-foot facility was built on two levels (with street-level entry and a walk-out lower level at back) for approximately $2.4 million.  It includes spaces for public meetings, fiscal court, sheriff, offices for county executive, emergency management, county clerk, and property valuation administration, as well as public toilets and a kitchenette on each floor.  Both floors are accessible from the street and are connected by an elevator. This project was completed with Scott, Murphy, Daniel Construction.
Completed in 2022, this new 3,500 square-foot facility was built on one level for approximately $1 million.  It includes spaces for exercise, computer room, office, small TV/conference room and a generous main gathering area, as well as public toilets and a small commercial kitchen for communal meals and catering.  The facility was designed for maximum accessibility and visibility, as all main spaces are visible through interior borrowed lights, which also provide views of downtown Lebanon, through windows on 3 sides. This project was constructed by BCD Construction with federal funding through a community development block grant.
Constructed in the city garage and recycling center complex, this training structure incorporates six 53-foot and one 20-foot high-cube shipping containers to create a fire-resistant simulation space on three levels, complete with two interior stairs, a ships ladder to a simulated attic space, and exterior stair access to all roof levels.  The containers can all be opened for easy cleaning between training exercises.  This project was completed with Marion Co Welding & Fabrication LLC and the City of Lebanon, KY.
